Ok for all you Apple iPhone fanboy and fangirls...it's official, AT&T have confirmed that next year you'll finally get that 3G version of the iPhone! I think with the new speed should come a more stable gadget, with time to have ironed out most bugs.
If you bought an iPhone for $599 in the U.S., you'll now be entitled to a $100 rebate. Why? Apple have just reduced the price of the 8GB iPhone to $399.
I think Steve Jobs is being too generous here as price reductions are always expected with new technology.
There's been a huge price reduction on the iRec Real-Time Video Recorder for iPod with Video! Just found out about this yesterday so if you've been eyeing this gadget there won't be a better time to get one than now! Check out the features, check out the specs, check out the system requirements but best of all check out the PRICE!
Features of the iRec Real-Time Video Recorder for iPod with Video: - Real-time recording - Timer - Intuitive LED - iPod Charging - Firmware Upgrade
Engadget have just release news that a smaller version of the new iPhone (iPhone Nano) is set to be launched overseas later this year. Looks quite appealing and with a phone inbuilt...wow.
If you were fortunate to have someone source you one of the hot hot new Apple iPhones, I strongly suggest that you protect that fragile screen with a quality screen protector. Of course, I'm going to recommend the Mr.Gadget iPhone Screen Protector, as these are simply the best on the market.
These are silicon based which means no sticky-gluey residue when apply or removing. The iPhone Screen Protectors are also scratch and bubble free so you can enjoy your iPhone in all its glory, without lumpy smudgy bits. One of the other great features is that we provide a 2-year warranty on our screen protectors, where if you do see bubbles, scratches or gluey residue, we'll replace it no questions asked.
Australian IT News reports that features such as sluggish network speeds, high cost and poor battery life may deter some buyers from picking up the iPhone which is set to be released through AT&T outlets on the U.S. this Friday.
I agree, however there will always be those who will be more concerned about gadget-cred than possibly owning a lemon. (I'm a big fan of the iPhone just for the record)
Check out this guy, reported by Apple Insider as being the first iPhone Camper! Yup, that's right, he's 4 days early and keen as anything to get his hands on an iPhone...
Here's a great YouTube video on the new Apple iPhone. Too bad it hasn't got inbuilt GPS or a proper PIM - I would have been tempted...still very nice though.
Only a couple days till it is released in the U.S.
Finally, there's an official release date for the Apple iPhone but the bad news is, this is for the U.S. I've yet to find any launch details for it here in Australia, but I suspect it'll only be a couple weeks later.
June 29th is the official iPhone release date provided by Apple.
What makes this device one of 2007's most anticipated?
iPhone Features - supports iTunes music service - comes in 4GB and 8GB capacities - supports both music and video - has a 3.5 inch, 320 x 480 pixel screen - Quad-band GSM/GPRS
The iPhone will support the iTunes music service, and it will sport either 4 GB or 8 GB of built-in storage. It will support both music and video, which will be playable on its 3.5-inch, 320-by-480-pixel, 160 ppi display.
In addition, this will be a quad-band GSM/GPRS phone. It will include EDGE, but not UMTS/HSDPA. It will, however, have Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0.
The iPhone will run a version of OS X, the same operating system this company's desktop and laptop computers run. It will be able to run some specially selected OS X applications, including the Safari web browser.
It will have a touchscreen, but not include a stylus. Instead, users will be expected to control it with their fingertips.
This smartphone will sell for $500 (4 GB) or $600 (8 GB) in the U.S.
Apple have done it again with the iPhone! They've upped the anti on their competitors, however this time it's the mobile giants who are being challenged. Apple's new product offering the Apple iPhone looks superb! The three main features of the iPhone are mobile phone, iPod and Internet communication functionality.
What I like about Apple is that they are so innovative. Take for example the iPod - Apple took a serious look at MP3 players and asked the simple question of "how can I make this device user friendly?" A few years later more than 50 million units have been sold.
If I were Nokia, Motorola or Sony Ericsson I would be working pretty hard to come up with something to combat the iPhone threat.
Apple iPhone Product Description iPhone combines three products - a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching - into one small and lightweight handheld device. iPhone also introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display and pioneering new software, letting you control everything with just your fingers. So it ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, completely redefining what you can do on a mobile phone.
