Windows Mobile 6 / WM6 for your JasJam/Dopod 838 Pro : Better than WM5

The iMate JasJam / Dopod 838 Pro is definitely one of the most stable PDAs that I've had in a while. Kudos to Microsoft for the improved stability and performance that has been a result of many years developing PocketPC software. I think Microsoft did a great job with the operating system that it came packaged with, Windows Mobile 5 (aka WM5). However a couple of months down the track, Microsoft have release Windows Mobile 6 (aka WM6) which although is not a huge improvement, does come with upgrade-worthy features.

List of major changes to Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 / WM6 for PocketPC:
- Revamped outlook, refined icons;
- Totally re-mastered sound theme;
- Increased interface speed;
- Bundled IP-telephony (VoIP, SIP standard);
- Smart Dial 2.0, fast search through contacts, call history; removable on-screen virtual keyboard;

- Support for shortcuts in Outlook Mobile;
- Full-fledged meetings arrangement system;

I've downloaded WM6 from XDA Developers as they have souped up versions that have been bundled with some nice applications. Windows Mobile 6 (WM6) : More stable, more features

One of the biggest gripes people had with Windows Mobile 5 (WM5) was its instability and lack lustre performance - it would crash your pocketPC at the most inconvenient times.
