Last June, the Firefox Mobile browser codenamed “Fennec” was only a concept Mozilla is working on. Rumors came out that the target release date is 2010, but it was debunked later afterwards. A recent interview with Mozilla CEO revealed that we’ll be seeing the Firefox Mobile real soon though.

Google unveiled a surprise product yesterday—the Google Chrome open-source web browser. And, in a move that’s quite Google-like, the world first knew of this browser through an online comic book. According to the Google blog, since the company employees were always working on a browser, it only seemed natural to work on one.

I’m a big fan of Firefox, so when news arrived through my RSS feed that Firefox 3 (in final testing stages) will come with major speed improvements, my ears (eyes) pricked up. When it comes to processing Javascript, Firefox 3 will be 9.3x faster than Microsoft Internet Explorer. For Gmail it will be 6.8x faster than MIE. Decent improvement if you ask me.
