The new Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY advertisements are in a word, kick-ass. Rather than using recently-post-pubescent males to talk up what could be 2011′s gaming device of the year, Sony Ericsson have taken a different tack altogether and employed the services of comedian Kristen Schaal to demonstrate the gaming versatility of the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY. The transition from mild-mannered white-collar worker to screaming fully combat-equipped GI-Joe girl is most entertaining. Very funny! (see one of the videos below)

It won’t be long till the new Sony Ericsson Xperia arc hits Australian shores. The press release below states that it should be here as soon as next month. From the Youtube videos (example below) and demos online, it looks like Sony Ericsson may be on a winner, at least have a phone which is much improved from the previous Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. The Sony Ericsson Xperia arc features a much more sleeker design, up to date Android OS (2.3), Exmor R mobile sensor for better lowlight still and video images and the Mobile BRAVIA Engine which delivers exceptional display.

You know what? I think Sony Ericsson are onto something sweet here with the release of their minuscule Sony Ericsson LiveView device which is a mini bluetooth display that mirrors functionality on your Android smartphone. I like how it comes with a wristband that allows you to insert the Sony Ericsson LiveView, thus transforming it into a multi-purpose watch. Ahhh…another reason for me to go back to Android again.

It may be the world’s smallest Android phone but the newly Australia-launched Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro still packs a punch!

I love how Sony Ericsson were able to maintain a tiny and sleek form factor despite having a full QWERTY keyboard on board. This gadget is obviously suited for people who love to type on the go and prefer something a bit smaller than its bigger brother: the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.

I think more people would have been attracted if it had at least Android 2.1 on it – the good news is that the Sony Ericsson X10 range is due for an Android upgrade in October this year! Read the press release and see it in action below.

I told you that 2010 was going to be a vintage year for mobile devices! Check out Sony Ericsson’s latest Android device to hit Australian shores – the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini.

As the name suggests, it is the smaller version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. It weighs only 88grams and is almost the size of a credit card. Don’t worry about Android 1.6 OS currently running on it as Sony Ericsson have confirmed that it will be updated to at least Android 2.1 in Q4 this year (let’s hope they jump straight to 2.2!).

Register your interest for the new Android-powered Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, which will be available in May on Telstra’s Next G network. When the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is due to be launched, we will contact you so you can be among the first to purchase the device.

I’m hoping the extra wait is not tied with Telstra developing bloatware for the device…
