I was quietly agog, when I heard that I was going to get another Leatherman multi-tool to review. This time it was none other than the Leatherman Supertool 300! One thing for sure, this tool is not for the faint-hearted – it’s larger than most pocket knives / pocket tools on the market due to the serious quality of the inbuilt tools.

This would suit someone who spends a lot of time outdoors who wants a quality heavy duty tool with all the major functions. I particularly like the length of the saw which means you can effectively cut branches for a fire, pruning or even carving up a nice walking stick or spear.

Where do I start! Firstly the service from mrgadget was second to none, the product was delivered very quickly and you actually felt like you were dealing with human beings! I ordered this product through an international company (hint: rainforest), that in the end I cancelled due to poor correspondence. I could not be happier with mrgadget. Thank you!

Now the product:
First impressions were:
This looks smaller than i expected, and feels very light! But do not let this deceive you, as in no way, shape or form does this feel inadequate and/or flimsy. It’s robust, modern and oozes with build quality. When you close this shut, it reminds me of a German car door thumping closed. It operates with ease and is immediately logical as well as ergonomic. Fits in the hand and pocket easily.

Aesthetically, it is a modern art work, the lines flow beautifully! It looks more like a sculpture you would find in the Macquarie University gardens. I stared at it, folding it in all directions and observing from different angles admiring the true workmanship and architecture of this tool. I must have looked like an idiot! The thing is though, it’s still a tool, all the functions you really need. I love it!

Yup you heard it right the Leatherman Skeletool CX will be available in Australia in approximately 3 weeks time. Such a lovely piece of gadgetry…

Its lesser-equipped however equally as stylish cousin the Leatherman Skeletool will be available from next week (First week Feb 2008). Both come equipped with quality nylon sheaths.
