Novothink Surge iPhone Solar Charger Case

A few weeks ago the generous people at iWorldAustralia sent me an iPod Touch gadget to review. This time it was the Novothink Surge Solar Charger Case for iPod Touch. I was slightly disappointed it wasn’t the iPhone version but thankfully a friend in the office loaned me his iTouch to try it out with (I did try to jam my iPhone in but it was too thick for the case!).

As the name suggests, the Novothink Surge Solar Charger Case utilises the power of sun to keep your iPod Touch juiced up!

Yes, a solar panel forms most of the back of the case – don’t worry its covered by thick transparent plastic which will protect it from accidental breakage. This solar panel churns out 5.5V at 100mAh in full sun which means more than enough power for your iTouch.

Other things I liked about the Novothink Surge Solar Charger Case for iPod Touch, were the battery charge indicators and the fact that it doesn’t add a ridiculous amount of bulk given its solar charging capabilities built in. I can’t forget to mention the grippy material the rest of the exterior is made of which means that it won’t slip out of your hand too easily.

This case is perfect for those who tend to spend a lot of time outdoors and preferably in a country / city where sun rays are in abundance – not recommended for people to be indoors for most of their days. Cave-dwellers, sorry
