Yes, just a few hours later from the photo leaks, Aliph’s new Jawbone is now official. Oh, and although we keep referring to it as the “Jawbone 2,” it seems Aliph prefers that we call it the “new Jawbone” instead. The new Jawbone is measured to be 50% smaller than the original version, so all you folks complaining about the Jawbone being cumbersome could take a second look at the new Aliph flagship product.

Last month, we caught wind of an FCC leak of the Aliph Jawbone 2 Bluetooth headset. Yep, it IS the follow up to the popular Jawbone Bluetooth headset, except it’s a lot slimmer and reportedly improves upon the first version’s charge connector. The Jawbone Bluetooth headset, by the bye, is lauded for its ability to cancel noise even in moderately noisy areas so you can enjoy talking on the phone outdoors, sans all the frustration that normally comes along with it.

Wow if this video is for real, the Jawbone Bluetooth Headset is definitely in my top 5 “must-acquire-gadgets” for 2008. According to all the accolades it’s received, I think it is…

In my time as Mr.Gadget I’ve have tested approximately 30 bluetooth headsets and none have had the level of noise-cancellation that this video suggests the Jawbone has.

Landing in Australia in a couple of weeks so we’ll be able to judge for ourselves.
