Sydney, Australia, February 12th, 2010: Say goodbye to heavy chargers, tangled wires and loose batteries; with the release of Australia’s first wireless power pad, Uniden makes recharging gadgets as easy as drop and charge, grab and go.
Ideal for recharging mobile phones, bluetooth headsets, portable GPS systems and many other mobile devices, the wireless power pad has been touted as one of the most hotly anticipated releases of the year. Compatible with more than 600 devices, a single Uniden Wireless Power Pad can charge up to five devices simultaneously.
Wireless power pads work by employing conductive charging. The pad is instantaneously activated when metal-on-metal contact occurs between the pad and a supplied sleeve. A single Uniden Wireless Power Pad placed on a kitchen counter or desk can possibly charge a whole family’s mobile phones overnight.
Completely safe, the direct metal-on-metal contact allows for a very efficient and secure power transfer without generating harmful radiation, microwaves or magnetic fields. The pad itself is so thin that it can blend into any living environment and eliminates the needs for multiple cords which would normally clutter the home or office.
To be released on March 1, the Uniden Wireless Power Pad will be available from leading electronics retailers. For purchase separately or as part of a package, a selection of power sleeves for iPhone, iPod Touch and various Blackberry models, and power discs for other mobile devices will be available from the same date.

These elegant-looking speakers are called “Zikmu” from Parrot, designed by Philippe Starck. The speakers acquire quite the minimalistic yet elegant modern look. They stand 2.5 feet tall, and boast 360 degrees surround sound.
When the iPod Touch was first revealed, all I ever heard from people was that it was a stripped-down version of the iPhone. Since first released, a lot of apps that turned the iPod into an almost-phone already came into the picture. A new entry is TruPhone.

Look, if my school did this when I was in college, I would have actually attended lectures a lot more frequently than I did. Seriously. Perhaps that was what Abilene Christian University was aiming for in the first place when they decided to give the students a choice between the iPhone and the iPod Touch. And yes, the lucky collegians get them for free.
The Nike + application for the iPod Touch and the iPhone built heaps of anticipation over the months people waited for its release. In fact, fake screenshots of the app even surfaced before, to the dismay of those who thought them to be real. Now the app is finally available on the second generation of the iPod Touch, it was reviewed by Gizmodo and got a rather mixed rating.
