A few hours earlier, Google Chrome, the search engine giant’s own web browser beta-launched. I downloaded the installer as soon as it was available, and have been using it for the last few hours. Check out my initial reactions and experiences thus far after the jump.

I’m a big fan of Firefox, so when news arrived through my RSS feed that Firefox 3 (in final testing stages) will come with major speed improvements, my ears (eyes) pricked up. When it comes to processing Javascript, Firefox 3 will be 9.3x faster than Microsoft Internet Explorer. For Gmail it will be 6.8x faster than MIE. Decent improvement if you ask me.

Other improvements include a more complex bookmarking system, changes in location bar and handy tab saving abilities.

If it weren’t for web presentation / CSS issues with IE6, I wouldn’t touch Internet Explorer at all.
