This year, I was inspired by a work colleague to start riding to work. I saw how healthy he was and how it was benefiting the environment. My daily cycle to work was approximately 30km in total.
One of the biggest bonuses of my ride was being able to see my city, Melbourne (the best city in the world) from a different vantage point. I can’t begin to describe how it feels riding along the Yarra River, passing early-morning rowers and feeling the sun warming as it rises. Simply brilliant!
In light of this, I would like to encourage all, especially Australians, to participate in tomorrow’s Ride To Work Day!
What is Ride To Work Day?
Ride to Work is a behaviour change program that encourages workers to feel good and have fun by commuting to work by bike and experiencing the health, financial and environmental benefits of riding.
If you’re in Melbourne, I believe there’s also a big breakfast that is sponsored by Bakers Delight at Federation Square!
Let me know if you’re doing this and we can meet up
Check out the Ride To Work Day Website for more info.
