Good ol’ Johnny K from Efficiency Matrix loaned us one of their newest green gadgets – the Non-Rechargeable Batter Charger. Despite the confusing name, this charger is a hero in the world of conservation – it charges normally non-rechargeable batteries like alkalines in 4 hours! On top of this it also charges NiMh, NiCad, Lithium and NiZN.
Yes it charges Alkalines!
I tried a pair of AAA Toshiba Alkalines and can report that the Non-Rechargeable Battery Charger topped them up without any explosions of any sort. Also charged a set of four 2400 NiMh.
I’m told that recommended retail will be around AU$50-$60 and that they will be on shelves in most good gadget stores by the end of July.
