Asus revolutionized the laptop market with its Asus Eee PC subnotebook range that was released in October last year. Despite the first-mover advantage, arch-rival Acer looks to overtake Asus’ sales with forecasted sales of 6 million units by the end of 2008.
“The netbook segment is growing very nicely”, said Acer CEO Gianfranco Lanci during a company investors conference call.
According to Asus cheif, Jerry Shen, sales for the Asus Eee line are currently close to the four million mark.
