Sennheiser CX95 Style Headphones CNet Review

Feb

Our friends at CNet.com.au have reviewed the Sennheiser CX95 headphones and have given it a above average 8.3/10! In summary:

It’s hard to pick out any significant downfall for these ‘phones, as they’re comfy, affordable and capable of a decent performance. Perhaps as we noted above, the high-end could be tweaked to highlight the more crystalline properties of some songs, but this is certainly something that will only annoy someone who has the money to buy something more expensive but chose the CX 95s.

We have no problem recommending these earphones. With good sound isolation, great performance and comfort for even the pickiest ears, the CX 95s stand as an absolute must-hear option.

Sennheiser Sound Logo Competition : Win up to 35,000 Euros

Sennheiser Sound Logo Competition Image LinkYup that’s right, you can win up to 35,000 Euros if your “sound logo” is selected as Sennheiser’s top entry. What’s a sound logo? As the name suggests, sound logos are to the ear what a visual symbol is to the eye. Given this, Sennheiser are looking to audio enthusiasts around the globe to help them define exactly what Sennheiser’s sound logo should sound like.

Sennheiser Sound Logo Competition Details
An entry is allowed to be up to eight seconds long. To make it as technologically simple as possible for those taking part, contributions should be uploaded onto the www.sennheiser.com/soundlogo website in MP3 format (stereo, 128 kb/s, max. 10 MB).

Professional and amateur musicians alike will have six months to play with; contributions have to be uploaded to the website by 17 July 2008. Each entrant may send in up to five entries. By the end of August thirty finalists will be selected, at which point their sound logos will be appraised by an international jury. “The public will be a virtual member of the judging panel of five,” adds Susanne Seidel. “You too can vote for your favourite sound logo via the website!”

It wouldn’t be a competition without a prize
The winner will receive a prize of 5,000 euros, as well as an optional 30,000 euros if Sennheiser acquires unlimited rights to use the winning logo. Those placed second to tenth will win first-class sound for their home: they can choose between Sennheiser’s dynamic top-of-the-range HD 650 headphones or equipping their rehearsal room with an evolution wireless ew 300 G2 microphone system. Says Susanne Seidel: “We’re really looking forward to receiving entries from all corners of the world. There’ll be an explosion of musical creativity.”
