Swann has recently unveiled FlashlightDVR, a James Bond-approved spy gadget. Taking on the form of an innocent flashlight, the aluminum-encased device can secretly take photos and videos with its built-in DVR and color camera without anyone noticing.

Engadget named the Vosonic VP5700 as a shame to the PMP name with its less than amiable exterior. Yep, I agree—the plastic overload turns me off. Nevertheless, if you ignore aesthetics and look deep, deep, deep, errrr, deep down, the Vosonic VP5700 could actually be an indispensable tool, most specially for photographers.

I love Leatherman pocketknives – they just look so animalistic! Take for instance the new Leatherman K502x & K503x; the first thing that comes to mind when I look at these are razor-sharp cat claws ready for some “Wolverine” type slicing ‘n’ dicing!

Take everything you expect from a traditional lockback folder. Then pile on the features—can opener, bottle opener, bit driver (with six screw bit tips), even a carabiner clip—but do it so the extra versatility isn’t noticed until it’s needed. Where do I start! Firstly the service from mrgadget was second to none, the product was delivered very quickly and you actually felt like you were dealing with human beings! I ordered this product through an international company (hint: rainforest), that in the end I cancelled due to poor correspondence. I could not be happier with mrgadget. Thank you!

Now the product:
First impressions were:
This looks smaller than i expected, and feels very light! But do not let this deceive you, as in no way, shape or form does this feel inadequate and/or flimsy. It’s robust, modern and oozes with build quality. When you close this shut, it reminds me of a German car door thumping closed. It operates with ease and is immediately logical as well as ergonomic. Fits in the hand and pocket easily.

Aesthetically, it is a modern art work, the lines flow beautifully! It looks more like a sculpture you would find in the Macquarie University gardens. I stared at it, folding it in all directions and observing from different angles admiring the true workmanship and architecture of this tool. I must have looked like an idiot! The thing is though, it’s still a tool, all the functions you really need. I love it!
