Consistent with previous years, the couple of months leading up to a new iPhone release always leads to an overload of rumors of the new device’s features, specifications and release date. This time around of course, it’s all about the upcoming Apple iPhone 5.
My girlfriend’s boss went to New Zealand a month back. He thought he’d turned data roaming off, but actually he hadn’t. When he got home he got a bill from Telstra for over $800! That was mostly related to the constant polling and syncing that his iPhone was doing related to Exchange email (he uses Google Apps). Telstra have been nice and have offered to waive some of that, but that’s not the point. The point is, telco international data roaming charges suck!
