Last night, we attended the tightly guarded HTC Legend event hosted by VHA (Vodafone and Three) and HTC Australia at the Australian Museum in Sydney. Besides munching on scrumptious morsels prepared by Chef Adriano Zumbo‘s team, we were given news of availability and pricing on the HTC Legend in Australia.
I know of a handful of people who have been waiting with baited breath for this bit of news for months!

This latest video (below) that popped up in my Youtube subscriptions just reminded me of just how amazingly far HTC have come over the last couple of years.
Although, they’ve only in recent years started using their own brand name when marketing their gear, HTC has been behind some of the biggest game changing gadgets in the smartphone / PDA space.

On the first day I got my Telstra HTC Desire, I wanted to see how the device would perform in my daily regime with the default settings. The only other apps that I downloaded and also ran throughout the day were Seesmic (Twitter Client) and Battery Widget (to monitor battery status on homepage).
I took the HTC Desire off the charger at 6am and was dismayed to find that by 9:13am battery life had dwindled to 60%! Had a feeling it was to do with the background services that were pulling updates down from Twitter, Facebook and RSS feeds etc, but left them running to see how long it would last with the unaltered settings.
At 6pm, exactly 12 hours from time of full charge, it died.
And I thought the iPhone was bad!!

This is my second day reviewing the HTC Desire for Telstra. So far it’s the closest thing to an iPhone-killer that I’ve seen. I’ll give more of a detailed review next week after a more thorough play.
In the meantime, I wanted to share some information about the case that I’m currently using on my HTC Desire -> HTC Desire Blue Soft Gel Silicon Case. Fitted it yesterday and I’m loving the blue as well as the added protection for the device. The other aspects of this case that I appreciate are the laser precision cuts for ports and camera and the grippy surface on the backface of the case.

I was surprised and honored to be one of the chosen.
