So Halloween has come and gone for another year. I was surprised to see so many kids (and parents) take part in this mostly American tradition in a humble outer-west Sydney suburb. What was the best costume that you saw?
Here’s the best Halloween costume I saw this year and it totally hammer-scissor-rawwwks!
Who in their right mind would want to be a passenger in an iPhone Controlled Car?! What if the battery dies or the iPhone crashes? Despite my obvious struggle to think of any logical reasons for this, looks like some academics at a German university think it has some merits. They’ve named it, of course, iDriver.
Check out the video below – I loved the Wario music at the end.
P.S. I thought of a good application for this – when you find a spider in your car but don’t know where it crawled to!!
iDriver Description
iDriver is an iPhone application to remote control a car. Go to http://www.spiritofberlin.eu for more information on “Spirit of Berlin”, a completely autonomous vehicle by the Freie Universität Berlin. It is equipped with various sensors and a drive-by-wire system for unmanned driving. iDriver is an addon to remote control the car with an iPhone. Powered by Appirion UG (http://www.appirion.com).
While I was busy beautifying myself for the Nuffnang Blog Awards, I thought it would be an opportune time to fit in a review of the Dexim P-Flip Portable Power Dock for iPhones and iPods that was sent to me from iWorldAustralia. It was immediately useful to me on my trip here as in between events here in Singapore, I didn’t have time to hook up my iPhone to wall or laptop charger. The Dexim P-Flip meant that I could charge my iPhone on the run without carrying any messy cables or adapters. Being able to use it as a desktop stand is also a fantastic idea!
Please subscribe and comment if you liked it. I got myself a Sanyo Xacti video camera while here in Singapore (I love SimLim Square!) so more videos will be popping up from now in.

In my quest to look for something to wear to the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards (See my post entitled “Krrunching My Way To Uniquely Singapore“), I stumbled across these fascinating Transformer Cufflinks. They are of course shaped after the symbols representing the two warring robot factions in Transformers – the Autobots (good guys) and Decepticons (mean and nasties). I like the attention to detail and the quality of the finished product. It’s a little hard to tell how big these actually are though…
Not sure that they’ll ship here in time for me to take to Singapore so I may order them at a later date either for moi or as a gift.

I’m expecting more and more Windows 7 videos and posts to pop-up as we draw closer to the Windows 7 release date this week.
I reckon Microsoft has to do a lot to convince the masses to upgrade to their latest version of Windows. For example, last night I was talking to a normal Windows user (a physiotherapist by trade who doesn’t spend more than 12 hours a day online) about Windows 7 and he shook his head and waved his hands saying that he would wait a couple of months until the bugs had been ironed out. He said he felt a bit shafted by the whole Vista experience.
Anyway here’s a video of some Family Guy characters discussing Windows 7!
Getting chased out the door by creatures resembling Microsoft software icons, is not my idea of a pleasant experience. In fact, I’ll be honest and say that it’d be pretty scary.
Here’s an advertisement depicting this exact situation albeit with lovey-dovey music in the background. This is Microsoft’s way of advertising the new Windows Phone operating system for mobile devices.
If I was a girl and slightly mad, I would quite possibly wear this outfit for 3D movies such as Up (which I should really go see sooner than later). Also looks like a cool getup for upcoming Halloween parties. For those with tight purse-strings, this is very makeable – white trash bag with red and blue cardboard cutouts should do the trick… [Friday Funny]
I started cycling seriously only this year and I was amazed at just how many people are taking up cycling these days in Melbourne. Has to be the cost of petrol and the increasing desire many have to be more green. My reason? I was sick of waiting for an hour or so in traffic when I knew too well that I could be spending the same time seeing some of Melbourne’s most scenic bits instead!
I’ve clocked up around 600km on the road to date, but never in my travels have I come across a bike like the above.
Can you believe that this same bike folds up so compact that it can actually fit a shape of a regular briefcase?
Here’s the proof below:

I’m always on the look out for unique stylish cufflinks and I think these Mini Lighter Cufflinks fit those characteristics quite well. Ok, maybe not so much stylish but very gadgety! This is either designed for those who smoke or those who want to be popular among smoking friends.
If you do end up getting a pair of these just make sure that your shirt is not flammable. Also not the best accessory to wear if you work at a petrol station either.
My love for tech gadgets came from watching movies such as Goonies, James Bond, Star Trek and Star Wars (just to name a few). Here we have Tom Merritt from CNet counting down what they believe to be the Top 5 Movie Gadgets of all time.
