It’s been a few days since I attended (and spoke) at Nuffnang’s Blogopolis and I’m still impressed by how smoothly and how enriching the event was. For those who don’t know, Blogopolis was attended by approximately 300 Australian bloggers, keen to learn how to take their blogs to the next level. The creme of the crop in terms of blogging, shared many juicy tips and tidbits. I believe we all came away with more direction, inspiration and motivation.

Today if you’re an Australian like me, you’ll be proud of very Cadel Evans who has just become the first Aussie to win the Tour de France. Being a hobby cyclist myself, I can imagine just how gruelling this race must have been on the body, mind and soul.
I thought the Melbourne was the best place for food but I must admit that Hong Kong is fast changing that thinking. I was invited by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel to experience their one Michelin Star rated Mandarin Grill + Bar Restaurant. As many of you know, I am not a food blogger like my buddy @ladyironchef, however once in a while I will accept restaurant invitations to see what they have to offer (as well as providing the opportunity to get off the computer for a bit!). With the amazing experience that we had at the Mandarin Grill + Bar Restaurant, I can now see why food bloggers love what they do and why most have round bellies!

For those of us less fortunate and were not able to attend Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, here’s a video that was uploaded to Youtube by the LG Team that hightlights some of the ground breaking devices that were showcased by LG Electronics this week. At around 2:42 of the video you’ll see our roving reporter, Alister Cameron, give his opinion on the LG Optimus 3D and LG Optimus Pad. He shares how he was ‘tempted’ by both devices and impressed by both LG’s foray into mobile 3D and partnership with Youtube.

Before he was Professor X, he was Charles. Before he was Magneto, he was Erik…presenting “X-Men : First Class” the next X-Men movie which rewinds time and follows the formative years of the X-Men, particularly the relationship between Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr. From the looks of the trailer, we’re all in for some heart-pounding, mind and metal-bending action!

The photo you see above is 100% real! The team at Telstra took this earlier this week as a test so that people like you will also get a chance to get your name (or the name of a loved one) here too. Imagine the surprise and delight on your partner’s face when they see their name in lights on the largest LED billboard in Melbourne, heck in Australia!

2011 is fast becoming the year of awesome gadget event invitations. Last month, you would have seen me galivanting around Las Vegas, blogging about the latest smartphones and gadgets from LG Electronics. I was particularly impressed with the dual core processor power of the LG Optimus 2X. Next month (March 8th-9th) we’re headed to outback Australia to spend some time test driving the new Toyota FJ Cruiser!

Las Vegas in January is freezing! The fact that I had spent the week before in tropical Fiji, didn’t help either as my body battled with the reduced temperatures.

Earlier this week I attended the LG Electronics CES 2011 Press Conference. In the space of the 45 minute session, I was able to learn quite a lot of where they’ve been and where they are going. I tell you what, after going through the whole experience, I have increased my respect for journalists and reporters who do this regularly – it requires much preparation, patience and poise!

Even though I got to the LG Press Conference slightly early, it was jam packed! So I had to sit in the middle of the crowd which meant I didn’t have the best vantage point for the the presentation. Good thing Phandroid, the Android bloggers, were in town with a videocam handy to film LG’s announcement of its two new phones in its Optimus Premium Series : LG Optimus 2X and LG Optimus Black.
