A few days ago, I posted my quick review on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. In short, it’s a superb phone (in my opinion 2011′s best) however one of its major downsides is its battery life. Thankfully there has been an improvement in battery time when compared with the Samsung Galaxy S 2 out of the box, yet when using it with my normal operational style, I found the battery only lasted till around 1pm (fully charged at 7am). This is totally unacceptable in this day and age of what are supposed to be power-efficient dual core processors and higher capacity lithium ion batteries!

I’ve been playing with the Samsung Galaxy Tab for around a month now and I must say that Samsung have done a very decent job of their very first tablet device. I’ll be sharing my experience with the device in the next couple of days but in short, if the Samsung Galaxy Tab had a dual core processor and was slightly thinner, I’d be using that instead of my iPhone 4 today.

Last Friday, we talked about Uniden’s announcement of the first wireless charger in Australia. In line with this, I noticed this video by the guys at GearLive which showed a demonstration of Powermat‘s new wireless charging range. I really liked the idea of the portable wireless charger that means you don’t need to carry a heavy messy AC charger to charge up devices like iPhone or Blackberries. It goes one step further than my current Dexim iPhone Portable Charger.

The more competition in this area the better the end result will be for us consumers

Interesting how he talked about charging efficiency rates between other similar wireless devices – looks like Powermat takes wireless charging quite seriously!
