2011 is fast becoming the year of awesome gadget event invitations. Last month, you would have seen me galivanting around Las Vegas, blogging about the latest smartphones and gadgets from LG Electronics. I was particularly impressed with the dual core processor power of the LG Optimus 2X. Next month (March 8th-9th) we’re headed to outback Australia to spend some time test driving the new Toyota FJ Cruiser!
Toyota FJ Cruiser Trip Outline:
Day 1: March 8th, 2011
- Fly to Adelaid. Charter flight to Hawker
- Drive program #1
- Drive program #2
- Dusk photography
- Overnight at Wilpena Pound
Day 2: March 9th, 2011
- Dawn photography
- Drive program #3
- Depart Hawker for Adelaide, then home ports
As you can see above, the four-wheel drive adventure will start with a chartered flight out of Adelaide to the remote town of Hawker. Look at the map below and you’ll see it’s in the middle of nowhere!
I’m already thinking I’ll be hardpressed getting a decent internet connection around here…(yes, that’s the first thing I would be concerned about. Who cares about food or water!?)
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend personally as I’ll be overseas, but Ankur Sharma, one of our resident gadget writers will be capturing every important moment on his Canon digital SLR. He’s an amazing photographer, so can’t wait to see his Toyota FJ Cruiser adventure shots!
Toyota FJ Cruiser Details
Toyota’s FJ Cruiser has been chiselled from Toyota’s extensive tradition of tough off-road performance.
It has developed into a basic, capable and affordable off-roader that connects with younger buyers who lead active outdoor lifestyles.
However, Toyota’s fifth SUV is not just a car. It represents the spirit of the company, blending history with modern design and engineering.
You are invited to experience, for the first time, the capabilities of FJ Cruiser on a wide variety of road surfaces and conditions in the Flinders Ranges.
