I must admit, I’m liking the changes that have been implemented at Cathay Pacific‘s new Business Class that will be in service on March 11th, 2011. Having flown business class with Cathay many times last year, I know first hand that the improvements will make the flying to Hong Kong even more enjoyable!
For me, I like: the much more easier to use seat controls, iPod / iPhone multimedia input jack, USB charge port, shoe locker, side cabinet and how they removed the (what I call) E.T. light which I felt was redundant. What was an already comfortable ride, is now even more convenient and relaxing. Can’t wait to try these new seats out!
P.S. If you do ever get to fly Cathay Pacific Business Class you must try their “Cloudnine” cocktail
Features of the new Cathay Pacific Business Class (2011)
The new Business Class is our most versatile yet
Our new Business Class is a perfect balance of privacy and openness, giving you complete control over your experience. Work, pleasure, sleep, entertainment – it’s all there for you, whether you’re by yourself or with a companion.
Enjoy flat-out comfort
When you’re awake, a precision toggle allows you to adjust the seat position to fit your mood and posture. And when it’s time to sleep, your seat transforms into a fully flat bed that is longer, wider and more comfortable than ever.
A place for everything
We understand that it’s essential to have a place to put all your belongings, whether you’re travelling for business or pleasure. That’s why we provide a large side storage with space for a laptop which also provides extra knee room for a comfortable sleep. Additionally, there’s room for small items in your side cabinet, extra space on your cocktail table, and a shoe locker that keeps your shoes handy near the aisle
A world of entertainment
There’s a new multi-port connector that lets you connect your own electronic devices (including iPods and iPhones)* to stream audio and video content to your 15-inch widescreen TV. A power supply keeps your devices fully charged throughout the flight. And StudioCX with Audio and Video on Demand is always there for your enjoyment with over 100 movies, 500 TV shows, 888 music CDs, 22 radio channels, and 70 games – and with 9 languages represented, you are sure to find something you enjoy.
Take a closer look
You can get a sense of the space and openness by visiting the Cathay Pacific website – www.cathaypacific.com/newbusinessclass. But you really need to fly it to appreciate the new design. We look forward to welcoming you on board and introducing our new Business Class personally.
The New Business Class is being progressively introduced on our Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Aircraft deployment varies and availability is subject to operational requirements.
