Last weekend, we were invited by the folk at Linguini Fini and Director of IHM Communications, Geoffrey Wu to try out their new brunch menu. It was the first time they served it so we felt privileged to be part of Linguini Fini history!
The casual dining restaurant is located in the heart of modern Hong Kong. At 1st Floor, the L Place, 139 Queens Road, you’ll most probably be familiar with its neighbour which is one of Hong Kong’s largest buildings, the Center. Don’t be fooled by its location though, the prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is anything but corporate. For us, we found it a perfect place to enjoy brunch with friends and the kids.
Why should you try Linguini Fini? Well for one, the Italian-inspired folk at Linguini Fini are serious about using only organic produce for all their gastronomic creations. What’s more they support the local market by using organic products from the region wherever possible. Salmon and beef, however are imported from Australia because it’s just the best (I can’t disagree here). The result is fresh and tasty deliciousness.
I liked the casual and relaxed feel of the place. There were all walks of life streaming in and out of Linguini Fini – from families to couples just wanting to get away from the hustle-bustle and enjoy some tasty food and themselves. Music and lighting complimented the upbeat menu and the service was attentive and pleasant.
How was the food at Linguini Fini? Absolute delicious. From the Stratecceti di Manzo to juicy meatballs of the “On Top of Spaghetti” to the Linguini Fini Benedict, the food was top notch. Oh and chocolate lovers will die over the Hot Chocolate Affogato…seriously wicked.
This is what we actually ate that morning:
Straccetti di Manzo – rare beef, artichokes, gorgonzola dolce, anchovy aÏoli
On Top of Spaghetti – homemade
meatball “all covered with cheese”, garlic bread
Happy Jack’s Daily Pastry Basket – selection of sweet & savory cakes, breads and pastries
LF Benedict – English muffins, mortadella, poached eggs, ‘nduja hollandaise
Hanger Steak & Eggs – 2 fried eggs, hanger steak tips, grilled bread
Monte Cristoforo Sandwich– semolina French toast, LF pancetta, provolone, maple syrup
Homemade Sausage & Egg – poached egg, ricotta polenta, roasted peppers
Lemon Olive Oil Cake – poppy seed gelato
Tiramisu – mascarpone crema, coffee cake crumble, frozen chocolate, tiramisu gelato
Hot Chocolate Affogato – graham cracker biscotti, marshmallow gelato
In summary, if you’re after a place to have wholesome Italian meal in a relaxed environment in Hong Kong (especially brunch) I strongly recommend Linguini Fini!
