Don’t know why so many Aussies are surprised by Telstra’s formal announcement today that it will release the iPhone 4 this Friday, when it was actually stated at WWDC 2010 that July 30th would be the date it would be available in Australia anyway. One only had to put two and two together to come to the conclusion that all the major carriers in Australia (such as Telstra) would abide by this scheduling.
I talked a couple of days ago, that despite the recent uproar regarding the fixable antenna issue that I would still get an iPhone 4.
As a long subscribing Telstra customer I’m all set to switch my SIM card from my iPhone 3GS to the new iPhone 4!
I’ll post up a review and video of my first impressions of the phone and especially keen to test it out on Australia’s fastest data network : Telstra NextG.
Here’s the Telstra iPhone 4 Release Date Press Release below:
Telstra today announced that it will launch iPhone 4 in Australia on July 30.
The iPhone 4 features FaceTime – which makes video calls over Wi-Fi to other iPhone 4s possible – and Apple’s stunning new Retina display, the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, resulting in super crisp text, images and video. iPhone 4 also features a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, HD video recording, Apple’s A4 processor, a 3-axis gyro and up to 40 percent longer talk time on 3G when compared to iPhone 3G S — in a beautiful all-new design of glass and stainless steel that is the thinnest smartphone in the world. iPhone 4 comes with iOS 4, the newest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, which includes over 100 new features. The revolutionary App Store provides access to more than 200,000 apps including the new iMovie app built just for iPhone 4.
