When iWorld Australia asked if I wanted to review the iLuv iPhone App Station, I jumped at the opportunity. Even without touching one, it looked like such a practical iPhone peripheral. For example, what better way to make use of a dormant charging iPhone than to have it function as a clock radio? But there’s so much more to the iLuv iPhone App Station…
The best things that I liked about the iLuv iPhone App Station are:
- Bedside Clock Functionality : It does everything a Clock Radio does except the radio bit. The iLuv App Station makes your iPhone look like one of those retro clocks from days gone past, that flip as the time changes. I used to have one so it tugged at my sentimental strings. You can also switch between three different types of clock themes according to your tastes. Additional bonuses are the ability to display current weather and wake up to your favorite iTunes songs
- Flip It Horizontally or Vertically : Whether you’re using it as a clock or as a speakerphone for telephone calls, you can switch its orientation just by physically tilting it. Ingenious design
- Super portable : Whether you want to treat it as a stationary bedside fixture or take it with you on a picnic, the iLuv App Station allows you to do both! In addition to being powered by AC plug power there is also the ability to go power-wireless by installing 6 AA batteries. It’s actually light enough to pack in your suitcase should you want to take it a’travelin’
- Audio goodness : The speakers provide quite a punch for something of its stature (who said size was everything?). Its decent audio can be attributed to the built-in amplifiers and dynamic acoustic chambers. There are also audio in and 3.5mm headphone jack ports
- Mini Theatre : On top of everything, you can use it to watch your favorite Youtube Vids or set it to scroll through your photos as a digital photo frame
Can you now see why I’m keeping this gadget by my bedside? Sorry I’m not giving this baby away.
You can get yours from one of iWorld Australia’s Resellers or from iLuv.
