In case you haven’t heard of CES before, it stands for (International) Consumer Electronics Show and it is the largest technology tradeshow in the world. Each year over 130 countries participate, many showing off their latest gadgets from major tech manufacturers like Samsung, Palm, HP, LG etc. It is THE place to be if you want to give your new device some decent exposure.
CES is also the place where awards are given to the best and most innovative gadgets launched. Here’s the link to CNET’s Best of CES 2010.
There are a couple of reasons why I’ve wanted to attend CES.The main reasons are:
- It’s hosted in Las Vegas which is a place I’ve always wanted to visit
- Some of the coolest gadgets are announced here
- Get to rub shoulders with some of my favourite tech reporters and bloggers
- Another way to increase my frequent flyer points
This year I may just get my wish… I’ll let you know how it goes but I’ve been earmarked as a guest blogger for one of the major technology brands to cover their latest gear. Very very exciting.
I hope it eventuates so I can report right here on this blog about the gadgetfest at CES 2011.
Will keep you posted!
