While I was discovering the HTC Desire for myself at Melbourne’s Telstra T-Life Store, I happened to meet a HTC representative. I won’t mention his name just in case. As we discussed the HTC Desire, he also gave me some juicy tidbits that are sure to spark excitement with those restlessly waiting on the HTC Legend to land in Australia.
HTC Legend Won’t Be Exclusive To Telstra
He gave an indication that the HTC Legend will not be sold exclusively through Telstra like the HTC Desire but will be available from one of the other carriers. When I queried him on whether it would be Vodafone, Optus or Three, he was coy to say which one exactly but confirmed it’d be one that I had mentioned. I’ve heard elsewhere that Optus’ arrangement to initially handle the HTC Legend didn’t work out, so that narrows it down to Vodafone or Three. The HTC rep said a HTC Legend announcement was imminent and would be made in the next one or two weeks which should clarify all the aforementioned.
Silly Optus for not trying harder – from all the reviews on the web, it looks like it will sell like hotcakes in Oz.
HTC Desire or HTC Legend?
Many of my friends who are Android-inclined are still deciding between the HTC Desire and HTC Legend. Here’s the HTC Legend post we did earlier for device information. For many it will be a choice between power/screensize versus rugged/stylish aluminum case.
I like the HTC Desire
