In February we highlighted Uniden‘s release of Australia’s first wireless charger which they’ve dubbed the Uniden Wireless Power Pad. I know we’ve all been waiting for more of these devices to go mainstream because let’s face it, we all hate plugging in cables to recharge our mobile devices. I for one especially get upset when I can’t find my charge cord :(

With the Wireless Power Pad all you need to do is fit your device with a specially made charge case (similar to a silicon tight fitting case except that these come with functionality built in) and then place it on the . Your device will automatically start charging!

The best feature I like about Uniden Wireless Power Pad is the absence of wires! My house has pets and kids and often times they tangle themselves playing with the cables and sometimes they even chew the cables to get themselves out of the mess!

What I like is that it would almost impossible to forget to charge your gadgets. Just place them on the pad in the evening and you’re done. I’d never have to worry about the battery running out just as I get on the bus in the morning.

We all hate wires as you said. I love something like this to have with me, so that I can charge my TouchDiamond, Hero at once without having to worry about when they would die on me. I would love to have something like this! :)

The best feature to me is it only requires one power lead one power outlet thereby reducing the amount of power leads, cables and outlets I require for my numerous mobile gadgets.

Just like seedless watermelon, that has what looks like seeds (take it white seeds don’t count) the Wireless Uniden power pad is connected to power by you guessed it a wire… which is a small price to pay as just looking down at office floor and see six chargers plugged in… the Uniden wireless power pad could free up space & save a life (have tripped over cables more than once)so a great idea… looks like it would also be good for making waffles :)

The features that I like best are the multi device support, slim body and portability. I could use it at home or office. But the real benefit will be on the go situation such as family vacations and business trips. Hope it also comes a car charging adaptor.

What I like most about the Uniden Wireless Power Pad is that you can just drop your phone/iPhone/Blackberry/whatever you need to charge and go. I can picture this being easy to have as a place to keep my phones plus it’ll be super easy to charge (no wires, no worrying about how to place the phone to charge)

This could be one of the most innovative gadgets to be released to the public. I like the “one plug” feature where you just need a single outlet to charge a number of cellphones. Frees up a lot of clutter. The design is overall fantastic. Minimalist, even. A great conversation piece in the household. Best of all, it’s from a reputable company backed by years of intensive research and development.

thats a cool concept, except for the fact that the iPhone has to stay in that ridiculous looking case, I need to keep mine in the piel frama leather case. You did a video on one a while back.

Finally someone has invented something like this. gosh. i hate plugging in and out of the phones i have, it’s really a hassle!! I love the fact that it is probably really simple to use and it won’t have to take up much space! (: If i get this, i won’t have to have problems looking for my chargers. and it’ll be so much easier to bring for travelling instead of those string-y chargers! ((:

This is an amazing gadget! I love the idea that I can charge my devices all at the same time in one place. I won’t have to worry leaving one gadget behind plugged in a power source then thinking about overcharging it. This is great!

As a person who has 3 phones and soon to be adding another one one thing i hate is having to plug them all in overnight and even worse is the docks littering my desk! This would clean up my desk no end and be uber cool at the same time!

No more arguments about whose charger it is! For a start it will be MINE, on MY desk. Yes, you can put your phone on it, but don’t even think about “borrowing” it and then forgetting to give it back.

The best feature of this great charger is in it’s simple, sleek design, that enables everyone to use it easily and effieciently. I can’t belive it!!! Finally a multiple charger. No more WHERE’S THE CORDS. All of our family members have one (or more) devices that need charging at some point in time. But the best feature is that EVERY ONE can use it and it looks good too.

We have four people in our house and dozens of charges. Can’t find it, kids screaming because their ipod isn’t charged, hell for hours in the car because they can’t watch anything, hand them my phone, damn thats flat as well because I couldn’t find the special usb adapter, not the big one the medium one, no not that one, the small one, oh my god, why can’t i just charge something, gone are the days when life was just simple, now i have to be connected to get peace and sanity. Help a mum cope and give the geek mum a power charger! Make one thing in her life a little simpler, please.

What a brill idea with 5 different phones in the house this will solve a heap of problems.
Next question – can it be adapted to recharge cameras, ipods, wii-motes and other portable devices?
