A few weeks ago I received a Kogan Blu Ray Player featuring WiFi 1080P Full HD. Since then I’ve put it to good use watching some of my favourite DVDs and of course some new Blu ray titles. One of my all time favorites “Big Momma’s House” (I love Martin Lawrence!) has especially been getting a good run on the machine.

For the price of AU$199, I believe that the Kogan Blu Ray WiFi Player is one of the best-value Blu Ray players on the market. Things that impressed me most about the player were the fast loading times, BD-Live functionality to download  extras about the movie on the web, the enhanced DVD playback and image quality.

I like built-in wi-fi best as it means I don’t need to pull a network cable from my study room upstairs all the way down to my living room where my TV is, or worse, probably resorting to drilling a hole through my wall and floor to pass the network cable! My missus wouldn’t be happy with me if I do that! – @ignatiusw

I love that it does upscaling via HDMI. That way I won’t have to throw out my DVD collection and they’ll look even better than they do now…

Definitely the built in wifi. It’s annoying how some manufacturers expect you to buy dongles to have the ability.

Yep would be the built in Wifi, I had to get a dongle for my topfield, no wifi built in and they didn’t supply one with my particular unit.

I love the wireless too, but I also love that it’s region-free for DVDs. That means I can watch my UK-bought DVDs without needing to keep my region-free DVD player plugged into the tv. @silne

The built in WI-FI is the killer on this unit, not having to run cables along the carpet, under the house is a dream. Every new item in the house should be WI-FI. Think about it a WI FI Kettle. Sit at your pc and turn it on to boil, brilliant.
Along with its neat slim form factor as well, it would complement any home tv setup. – @neildallimore

I must admit the built-in WiFi is a huge drawcard as is the “fast loading” and 7.1 channel audio. The Kogan Blu Ray WiFi will provide an awesome home theatre experience – @blads

For me Wifi is one of the biggest points, as my network is pretty much all Wifi- so having the player use my already made network just makes it so much better. Oh and the general features like 7.1 audio etc. which everyone has come to expect, its a great package in the end. – @trinest

I like the WiFi and the fact that it can play all sorts of podcast videos. I can discard my DVD and media players, and replace them with a single machine which also does Blu Ray. @iann12

The wifi functionality is where it is at. Combining Blu Ray and Media Player seems like such a simple idea and Kogan has put it together perfectly! The potential for this in a commercial sense is fantastic. Display LCD’s playing video and image files via the wifi connectivity, has fantastic potential. Can’t wait!
