I’ve always wanted to own a pair of noise-cancellation headphones but I couldn’t justify outlaying another couple of hundred dollars for a pair since I have so many headphones as it is. So it was a sweet blessing when Creative contacted me to ask me if I wanted to review one of their headphones which by coincidence featured noise-cancellation technology. The headphones are the Creative EP-3NC!
Perfect for Traveling
For those who have been following my adventures over the last couple of months, I’ve done some decent traveling – you’ll know that I’ve visited places like Singapore (twice), Tokyo and Seoul and having a pair of Creative EP-3NC to accompany me on these trips would have been perfect. At the flick of a switch, which is positioned on a clip-on remote, you can enhance your portable audio experience as the Creative EP-3NC activates frequencies that drown out background noise. I used these on a plane to Sydney recently and can tell you first hand that it helped me focus on the music to the point where I couldn’t even hear the announcements that were being made overhead.
The fact that the Creative EP-3NC also comes with an airplane adapter means that you’ll never have to use those crappy plane headphones again!
Worried about your hair? Consider Creative EP-3NC!
If you’re looking for comfortable noise-cancellation earphones that won’t mess up your hair, these are ideal. Now this is not to say that I spend copious amounts of time each day perfecting my do, but let’s face it, it’s already bad enough coming out of the aircraft with “plane hair” – where the back of hair looks squashed because of it pressing back against the plane seat for so long.
Fits almost any ear and they’re comfortable too
Normally, I don’t go for in-ear headphones without earclips because I find they fall out of my ear, however Creative have solved this problem by providing 3 sets (small, medium and large) ear plug adapters in the Creative EP-3NC package. For me, I found that the small fit best in my ear canals
They’re also soft enough so that you can have them in your ears for hours.
Beautiful Sound
As for the sound, because they physically and by frequency are designed to cancel out background noise you can only imagine how rich sound is when you’ve got the Creative EP-3NC headphones on. I would put the sound quality on par with the Creative Aurvana Air that I reviewed only a week or so ago. Bass was huge and treble crisp.
Do I have Big Feet?
My only gripe was, when I was walking down the street I could hear my feet thudding on the ground too. Maybe the earphones were so tight that any substantial contact with my body resounded to my canals? This could be alleviated with a different pair of plugs. I’ll experiment.
For under $150, the Creative EP-3NC Noise-Cancellation Headphones are a superb bargain!
