One fad that has revived itself over and over during the last couple of years is the Rubik’s Cube. It is of course that lovable 6-faced 3D puzzle where you have to get all the faces back to the same color. In the 80s, I remember my Dad being so enthusiastic about it, that he purchased a Rubik’s Cube book so he could show off at parties and the like. Interestingly enough, last Saturday, a teenage friend of mine brought one to the Basketball court to exhibit his finger-spinning and puzzle-solving prowess.
I live in a world of nerds! Help!

News is out that a new version of the Rubik’s Cube will be available for purchase by around August this year. It has been dubbed the “Rubik’s 360“. Professor Rubik, the inventor and sculptor released a statement which said: “I feel that the 360 is one of the most innovative and exciting puzzles we’ve developed since the Cube – adopting elements of my original design, challenging the solver to use skill, dexterity and logic.”
With the Rubik’s 360, the challenge comes in the form of a sphere with two smaller spheres inside it. The goal is to get the colored balls from the inner sphere, into matching slots on the outer sphere by shaking them through the middle sphere which only has two holes.
Apparently it actually is as complex as it sounds.
Hope to confirm this after August.
