Samsung intros Blue Earth, a solar-powered mobile phone

samsung-blue-earth-awesome-rm-engMobile solar chargers have been on the market for a couple of years now and they’re improving in terms of their designs and charging efficiency. It was only a matter of time till a savvy manufacturer like Samsung incorporated a solar-panel into a mobile phone.

That day has come – Samsung have just announced their first eco-centric mobile phone dubbed the Samsung Blue Earth.

Not only will it positively impact the environment through its solar-charging capability but also through its design and makeup; the Samsung Blue Earth is made up of recycled plastic!

Truly a “green” mobile.

Availability: UK shelves by second half of 2009.

ummm… would normally keep in pocket but may work better if put down back of pants as have been told the sun shines out my a…, so that would keep charged :)

Yeah good point, spending most of it’s time in my pocket won’t help! However leaving a mobile phone laying around in the sun to charge might sound good but depending where you work it could end up walking away in someone else’s pocket.

I think it is just sucking up to our collective need to stop the stuffing up the planet.

The phone looks great with the buildin solar charger, but how efficient is it? I meen, is it still neccecary with the normal charger? I’ll be looking forward, to some more reviews of this phone.

It look’s great and very stylish with touchscreen function but how long does it need to charge.

Smart looking cant wait to see it in person.
