I have canon SLR eos film and digital backs and a canon FS11 SD video camera both are great but am seriously looking at upgrading to the 500D. The benefits of being able to shoot video from the same unit as well as having the clarity and optical zoom capability from the SLR lenses is just a winning combination. I dont think the 720p lines is too much of a problem for most people shooting the kids or their holidays shot. Now all they need to build in is a sim card and simple menu system so we can submit pics or video's straight to flickr, our favourite blog platform or youtube now that would be a killer gadget. Love these camera’s.
