Personally I think the biggest advantage of the palm is the keyboard, especially if you are looking for a business phone this makes it superior to the iPhone. I’m typing alot and doing this on the iPhone would be highly annoying. Some people hate to hear this, but I’d say: The iPhone is a nice toy for home use, for business nothing beats a Palm *getting ready to dodge the bullets*

What may give palm a boost is that it was the leader in the pda industry. Just as apple was a desktop computer leader, it became a follower and ipods & hence the iphone, gave them another boost to be a leader again. The same thing could happen to palm. HTC & other failures never were top of the heap.

On a different note, to me the iphone never was or will be a business phone, they are an entertain phone, more is said about their gaming, music and apps then how the business community wants it. The Pre is definetly not an entertainment phone, but more of a business phone or life phone, more in the texting, emailing vain. If I want to keep my life and business on track (& yet keep them separate)I’d do Palm, if I want a phone with my entertainment devise, I’d do apple.

*sigh*, wish I hadn’t signed that NDA, but then I never would have seen or used the Pre. Palm publicly announced there would be an app store. The apps are Java – 15,000,000 coders are available to take existing apps and bring them in – and guess what? They don’t have to use Cocoa! This is a game changer. I love my iPhone. And I hate Sprint. The ONLY question I have is if Palm has the $$$ to take on Apple and Sprint has the $$$ to take on AT&T.
