
It’s that exciting time of the year again – WWDC announcements. As predicted the new iPhone with all its juicy details were unveiled. The name for this new version is the iPhone 3G S and it comes with a whole swag of improvements; many of which were mentioned in our 7 Must-Have Improvements for the iPhone 3G post a couple of months back.
I’m over-the-moon that Apple have fixed the iphone!
Here are the main improvements of the iPhone 3G S:
- Faster processor
- 3.0 Megapixel camera with macro and auto focus
- Video recording 30fps
- Voice-control : iTunes and dialing
- 7.2Mbps HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, EDR
- Enhanced battery life
- Bigger 32GB capacity available
The only drawback to all this is it’s 2 grams heavier
Yes I Will Be Upgrading My iPhone 3G
Given the above, I will definitely be updating, mostly due to the new iPhone 3.0 OS, video recording and faster broadband speeds. These should enhance my daily workflow nicely.
Video on iPhone Will Make Vidcasting Even More Popular
Even though video recording has been available on mobile phones for a while, the fact that it becomes standard on the iPhone 3G S means that we should see a rise in video-sharing websites / apps in the upcoming months. I for one will be relaunching myself into the vidcast world.
iPhone 3G S Availability
According to Engadget, the new iPhone 3G S will be available in the U.S. from June 18th however it looks like August for the rest of the world. You’ll be able to pick up the 16GB for $199 and the 32GB for $299 on new AT&T contracts.
