Announced earlier this year, the Zivio Boom Bluetooth 2.1+EDR headset is now available for purchase exclusively at myzivio.com. The Zivio Boom’s form factor isn’t anything special. While the press release describes it as a “pretty face”, I think it’s rather uninspired.
However, it does offer something which could be really useful: from a length of 53.5 mm, the mic extends ’til the whole device measures 137 mm so you can speak softer with the mouthpiece near your lips. It also features a rather impressive 10 hours of talk time and 300 hours of stand-by time. So, how much do you pay for the clarity luxury the extendable mic brings? US$130. A little steep, but it might be a worthy price to pay, not to mention the fact that you’re helping the planet. That’s because Joby, Zivio Boom’s manufacturer, is a member of 1% For The Planet, a global movement of companies that donate 1% of their annual net revenues to environmental organizations.
