June 1, marks that Winter has officially started in Australia. In Melbourne, it symbolizes frosty mornings, Aussie Rules football and meat pies! (and the occasional dim sim for those not caring about their breath or other peoples’ reactions). Doesn’t get as cold as Seattle, but cold enough to not make you NOT want to go to work in the mornings.
Despite impending gloomy weather, June 2008 marks the official release of two of the most talked about touchphones on the the gadget scene : the 3G iPhone and HTC Touch Diamond. Given the brand presence of Apple, I’m putting my money on the iPhone to be the most popular however this doesn’t mean to say the HTC Diamond won’t do well – in fact I’m fairly confident that HTC will break many of its own sales records with this extremely well geared Windows Mobile PDA phone.
Not sure if Sony Ericsson did the right thing by planning the release of their first Windows Mobile gadget, the Xperia X1, for approximately 3rd quarter this year. I have a feeling that it will struggle in the wake of the two mentioned above…
*pinch* *punch* for the first day of the month!
Oh and speaking of which, it’s also the last month of the Australian financial year which means GADGET TIME for gadget lovers down under! Those intending to splurge just for the sake of gadget lust should know what the ATO (Australian Tax Officer) guidelines are on legitimate tax deductions as the ATO is said to be cracking down on peeps.
Going to seriously gather parts for my Home Theatre machine that I have been planning for the last 3 or so months…
