This is wrong. The following "greens" are inaccurate:

* Memory - The G1 has an SD card slot, supporting SDHC cards. So it supports the same as the iPhone :: Green for G1
* Device Control - the G1 has a touch screen, home button and a _back_ button (a feature the iPhone sorely lacks), in addition the the features you listed :: Green for G1
* Network - It is confusing how you deemed a "winner" :: Yellow for both

A few notes -

- G1 DOES have multi-touch. Check youtube for actual videos. I have the latest update from XDA-developers with the full multi-touch browser.
- G1 can support up to 16gb microsd cards, and has more ram than the iphone. It may even support up to 32gb cards as well.
- The Android OS is faster than iPhone, so although the processors clock may be a bit slower, it's actually a faster phone.
- The ability to use the fluid touch on the G1, AS WELL AS A TRACKBALL, is quite a positive bonus, not sure how you give the nod to Apple on that one.
- The compass is actually a big deal, and new apps are coming out all the time that utilize this - for instance, a parking location app that actually POINTS you in the right direction, so even if you are in the middle of a parking lot you can find your car anywhere.

A few more notes, Androids openness could solely be the reason why the G1 is better. I can now tether my phone via WiFi to my laptop and provide 3G speeds, in fact, I can tether my phone simultaneously to several laptops and provide 3G speeds. Why? Because people can innovate on Android, and they do.

This article is very weak, sorry.

I bought a g1 and I used it for 3 months. I got rid of it because it felt incomplete. The UI was lacking and it looked like windows 3.1, the camera was slow and and the pictures came out dark, the sound quality was poor, The qwerty was kind of fun but small, and let's face it the battery life was poor-I had to charge it twice a day. And worst of all the app store was a joke. I mean how many free tip calculators and flashlight does one need?

I now have the iphone. And I have a shitload of Steve Jobs approved apps that make my life easier. The apps are polished, colorful and hitech and usefull. And I have tones of games.
The iphone's UI is so slick and intuitive, it's like it's reading my mind. The g1 felt like it took 2 steps back in terms of design and innovation. The track ball really didn't add to phone and eventually you would use the touch screen because you were to lazy to use the track ball. I will miss copy and paste though. But who cares, I have consistent and accurate GPS unlike the g1.

Guys as mentioned in the article, this write-up was based on specs alone. I'm hoping to get my own G1 when it comes out in Australia.

You forgot the G1's expandable memory up to 16gb out of the box, OPEN SOURCE android, customizable without the need to jailbreak, and .... copy and paste.

Btw, theres more to a phone than just hardware specs.

Apparently the G1 DOES have multi-touch, this is unconfirmed although a Google spokesman apparently let it slip during a preview of the phone. If the multi-touch does exist on the G1, then it is locked at the factory. There are some legal patent issues with Apple's multi-touch technology and I hear Google didn't want to get caught up with those at the moment.
