Manufactured by Tsinghua TongFang, Co. Ltd., VIA announced the new 10.2-inch notebook called the S1 imini Mini-Note Series for the Chinese market. The lightweight ultra-portable consumes only 15 watts electricity when active; a consumption comparable to that of a light bulb.
The S1 imini Mini-Note Series uses VIA’s C7-M processor and boasts functionalities other than just being a notebook. Outside the Vista environment, it can serve as a portable hard drive with battery pack, DVD player, digital photo frame, and a business card manager. Optional features include GPS and wireless connectivity. The S1 imini Mini-Note Series is TongFang’s first ultra-portable offering and is expected to be priced at around US$583.
