Yes, it’s sleek, yes it’s sexy, and yes there are lots who got pissed off when they found out that the MacBook Air has no optical drive among other things. Unfortunately, this upgrade doesn’t have anything to do with adding the missing features, but source claims a new upgraded MacBook Air is in the works.
According to PhoneNews.com, Apple is prepping the release of a new version of MacBook Air. No, they won’t shave off more millimeters yet in an effort to capitalize (even more) on the device’s thickness, but instead would be replacing its innards with better specs. The new Air will supposedly sport a 45-nm Penryn processor, replacing that custom-made Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The laptop will still be available with both SSD and HDD storage options; the latter to be available in upgraded 120 to 160GB capacities. The battery will also be replaced with a better one that requires a 60W power adapter for full charge.
Would you buy a MacBook Air with these new specs, or would you have wanted more?
