Transformers T-Shirt Banned From British Airways Flight

This has got to be daftier than the daftiest thing the British have called daft.

A British Airways passenger was asked to change his Transformers t-shirt because it showed a robot brandishing what may be classified as one big-ass gun and believed it could possibly threaten safety on the plan…Huh?

Take a look at the t-shirt below and tell me if it looks dangerous enough to pose a threat on a flight out of London. I don’t know about you guys, but even before I read the full story I already decided that it was a cool t-shirt and I wanted one. At no point, in my initial inspection did I see how this shirt would cause panic at Heathrow. As far as I know, technology has not been invented yet that transforms t-shirt images into real life objects. Correct me if I’m wrong.

For one thing, it’s Optimus Prime; the kind and fearless leader of the Autobots – helloooo…he was a good guy. If anything, the guy wearing this t-shirt most likely held the same values that the Autobots fought for; peace, justice and protection of the human race! Perhaps if he wore a Decepticon t-shirt featuring Megatron, Galvatron or Starscream that would have been more of a concern…wait a minute…no that’s just wrong.

This fiasco has marked a sad day for Transformer fans all around the world.

I read the original article on the guy’s blog, and it seems the supervisor even threatened to have him arrested if he put the shirt back on. Lame!

According to the T-shirt owner’s own blog posting, it’s Megatron on a French Connection shirt…

It’s not Megatron, unless it was Optimus Prime holding Megatron when he was transformed. If he can’t tell the difference between his Tranformers, the Britons were correct in asking him to change his t-shirt… :P

@Sol Young> The owner didn’t say it was Megatron. He said the security guard started joking with him that it was Megatron.

You guys are sad – does it really matter which Transformer it is? The vast majority of people won’t know if it’s a “good” or a “bad” robot, they just see a nasty looking robot with a big gun.

It’s pretty pathetic that a T-shirt like that gets banned though…how insecure would you have to be to be worried by a picture on a T-shirt?

I am a female and I have a t-shirt that has the classic Fonz from Happy Days giving a thumbs up saying.

” I F$%^@# your girlfriend” lmao. I love that shirt

If a gun on a shirt will shoot people … what does the fonz mean? Does that mean I have cheated on my partner? Will Da Fonz will come crawling outa of my shirt and start hitting women? Alllright!! lol GO FONZ!!!
