Cupertino, get ready because this purported mock-up of Sony’s first touch screen Walkman player is sure to make waves – if the news is real, that is. SonyInsider is reporting that reliable sources confirm the existence of a Sony Walkman with a touch screen panel and its subsequent debut in CES 2009. The player will reportedly be using the ultra-bright, low-power OLED technology for the screen rather than the usual LCD panel. Additionally, resolution is pegged at WQVGA. There will be two versions available: a 16GB one and a 32GB both with WiFi capabilities. There also seems to be YouTube integration, built-in search capabilities, and a powerful S-Master digital amplifier. We’ll find out soon if the news is true, but I sure do hope it is!
