Sony S-AIRPLAY
For those who’re lucky enough to live in big enough houses to warrant a multi-room audio system, Sony just announced one called the S-AIRPLAY. Of course, it only works if everyone in the family has similar tastes in music, but yeah, I’m sure a lot of people would want one.
So, how does the new Sony S-AIRPLAY wireless multi-room audio system work? It’s quite simple actually. There’s a main docking station where you place your iPod. You then plug in the included two S-Air wireless speakers into outlets and that’s it. In fact, although the package comes only with two wireless speakers, you can connect as many as 10 onto the system as long as the speakers are within 164 feet range. The system is even equipped with an AM/FM radio tuner so you can listen to radio instead of the iPod if you like. Pre-orders for the US$400 Sony S-AIRPLAY are now being accepted online, although units will hit retail stores by September. Additional wireless speakers, in case you live in a mansion and need 10, will cost $130 each.
