The world’s been waiting with bated breath for months now for the launch date of a formidable contender in the smartphone arena, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. Just recently, we’ve reported that the handset will be released on October this year, but we slipped by a day because the XPERIA X1’s official release will be on 30th of September.
The September 30 release will be for the UK, Germany, and Switzerland exclusively. A bit later than September 30, sometime during the fourth quarter of the year, countries in the Asia Pacific such as Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Malaysia will also be getting the handset. Unfortunately for Australia, seems like the country has to wait until the first of quarter of 2009 before the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 lands on its shores. No reason was given why Australia has to wait, but the real question is, would you wait for it?
