Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Gets a Facebook Home Panel

One of the selling points of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is its interchangeable home screens to replace the original Windows Mobile one. It’s supposedly one of its edges against other WinMo smartphones. Social networking junkies would definitely find this home screen created specifically for Facebook appealing.

Basically, after logging in to your Facebook account, your home panel becomes an aggregate of circles comprising of the people in your friends’ list who updated their profiles recently with you in the midst of everyone. All profiles which you are yet to read have green borders, while those you’ve already read have white. Accessing your friends’ profiles is as easy as tapping on their representative photos – you can even call them through the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 directly if they’ve listed their phone numbers. The Facebook panel is already available for free in the Sony Ericsson web site – that is if you already have the phone itself.
