In spite of the rumors that Sony is regretting lending the Walkman brand name to Ericsson, a new Walkman phone was unveiled. The Sony Ericsson W902 Walkman phone is a rather simple-looking black candybar music-oriented mobile phone.
Mobile-review has posted a tepid short review of the phone in their Russian site. The review praised the Walkman line of phones for being dedicated to delivering prime sound quality, but that’s about it. This phone doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack, which slashes off a lot of options for headsets and standard speakers. Furthermore, it only has 152 MB internal memory, which would barely suffice for a handful of digital audio files. You can always stick in up to 8GB of Micro M2 memory card for expanded memory, though. One notable feature is its 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus, which is the same as the one fitted on the image-oriented phone Sony Ericsson C902. So it seems that if you want that 5-MP camera feature along with a decent music player on a single phone, it’s better to get this rather than the C902. The Sony Ericsson W902 Walkman Phone will be available on November for approximately US$530.
