Look, if Sony Ericsson has already rolled out the XPERIA X1 globally, I would have been a bit more excited. After all, that would mean this one’s got a chance to be officially unveiled soon. So far though, what we have is just leaked news that Sony Ericsson is working on the company’s next touchscreen handset codenamed Hikaru.
Hikaru, by the bye, is a common Japanese first name for both males and females. Aside from having a touchscreen panel, the Sony Ericsson Hikaru will reportedly sport an 8.1-megapixel camera and 8GB of internal memory which is good. It will most probably have an expandable microSD card slot too, and with SanDisk’s new 16GB memory cards, the phone could have considerable storage capacity. It’s clear that the camera will be one of the phone’s main selling points, but nobody knows if Hikaru would be part of Sony Ericsson’s Cybershot line. There are no reports of what kind of keyboard it will sport as well. The picture used for this post was a mockup created by Unwired View.
