The SlingPlayer Mobile for the iPhone has just been confirmed. It was a subject for speculation for a while now, but Sling Media now released the details of the development. It’s definitely a boon for Slingbox users who also own iPhones.
Too bad it’s only for the first gen iPhone for now. Sling Media is aiming for the SlingPlayer Mobile for the 3G iPhone in the future though. The demo video posted on Gizmodo was the application on a hacked iPhone since it’s still in the early stages of development, plus there are reportedly some limitations. The SlingPlayer Mobile, by the way, lets one connect a device (in this case, an iPhone) to the Slingbox. Using SlingPlayer Mobile’s functionality, the iPhone could easily have a nice mobile TV.
