Skype works well for me for the computer, but I’ve heard much flak about its mobile version. Nevertheless, those who are looking for a working VoIP for their Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphones now have Skype as a choice.
Skype has recently announced the availability of Skype 2.2.0.45 for the Windows Mobile 6.1. Skype, for those who don’t know, is a VoIP solution which could be used to make both local and international calls for a low price. GSMArena installed Skype on the Samsung OMNIA and the HTC Touch Diamond. Both worked fine, although noticeably better on WiFi connection compared to HSPA. Moreover, it seems that the client remains active even while during a call, so there’s always the chance of pressing something while talking. Take note that you need a high-speed mobile internet connection to use Skype, as well as a minimum of 12MB free storage.
Download the Skype 2.2.0.45 here, .cab and .exe versions available.
