Firefox’s mobile browser is truly a figment of people’s overactive imagination no more. After last week’s announcement that we’ll see an alpha real soon comes a few screenshots to prove that Mozilla’s CEO wasn’t just rattling off some tentative dates to appease impatient fans.
Over the weekend, a few screenshots of the Fennec Firefox mobile browser was posted over at the Mozilla blog. Preliminary runs revealed a problem with onscreen text (see screens with square displays below), but I think it has been resolved quickly. Fennec got an Acid3 test score of 88 over 100, which is good, actually. We’re hoping that after whetting our appetite, Mozilla would at least mention when a Fennec Alpha would be released, but I guess we have to make do with these images for now.
