Upon first glance, it’s pretty hard to figure out what’s so luxurious about the Samsung Ego GT-S9402. You see, unlike other high-end “luxury” handsets made for the affluent crowd, the Ego GT-S9402 does not have platinum chassis or diamond studs.
What the Samsung Ego GT-S9402 does have though is a tough shell made out of something called “liquidmetal” that’s a Caltech-developed composite alloy. The material is supposedly “3 times stronger, can withstand 1.8 times the pressure, is 1.6 time more flexible, has 3 times better vibration absorbption and 100% lower termal conductivity than titanium.” One major caveat: the handset does NOT have 3G connection. Other specs aside from the camera are pretty disappointing as well: 5 megapixel camera, 1GB built-in memory with expandable card slot, 2-inch QVGA AMOLED display, and Bluetooth and USB connection. Still, if you’re interested in an expensive tough phone, the Samsung Ego GT-S9402 will retail for AU$2,350.
